Meet our Founder
Originally from a small town on the south side of Chicago, Jackson started Northbridge to help students and families navigate the college admissions process. He spent years working in college admissions at various institutions and earned his M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration from Vanderbilt University, where he conducted qualitative research on state and federal education policies to determine the effects they have on college-bound students. He has read thousands of college applications, has a strong background in education policy, and is passionate about creating an easier path to college for all students.

During his time at Vanderbilt, he developed a workshop to teach students and families how to navigate the college admissions process by providing a behind the scenes look at how applications are evaluated at top colleges. After hosting a few workshops at high schools, families praised his transparency and candidness, leading him to create Northbridge. Now, Jackson and his team of college counselors help students by offering individualized and comprehensive support to ensure each student who comes through Northbridge finds the college that is the right fit for them.

When Jackson is not working, you'll find him cheering on his favorite Chicago sports teams, spending time with family, or volunteering in the community.

Our counselors work hard to hold you, and themselves, accountable. You will work together to set short-term and long-term goals, and motivate each other to reach them. Being accountable means that our counselors will own our outcomes rather than make excuses for them.
Why is our work important?
Colleges have become increasingly more selective over the years, with many institutions reaching record application numbers. However, as the number of applications has gone up, the space available on campus has stayed relatively the same. The result is a decline in admission rates, making it harder for students to attend these highly ranked schools.
